What are F1B Goldendoodles?
Goldendoodles are a hybrid breed that crosses a poodle with a golden retriever. The reason for this is two-fold. Having a larger gene pool will reduce the health defects found in these two specific breeds. In addition, the dog will have characteristics of both breeds. For example, a goldendoodle will have less shedding than a golden retriever and will have personality traits of the golden retriever.
I have chosen to breed F1B goldendoodles. F1B means that a goldendoodle was bred back to either a golden retriever or a poodle. For Rowboat Farm, we breed back to a poodle to further reduce the likelihood of shedding. Our puppies are 75% poodle and 25% golden retriever. Although there are no certainties, there is more of a chance for “no shedding” with F1B goldendoodles.
that was alot of help!!!! thx!!!!
